Military Service: 
  •      First Lieutenant, 18th Louisiana, Company E
  •      Captured April 13, 1863, Franklin, Louisiana
  •      According to the diary of Major Silas Grisamore,
         Lieutenant Melville and Lieutenant Septime
         Webre both of Company E wounded in the same
         battle on April 13, 1863.  Lieutenant Webre was a
         cousin to Lieutenant John Webre who was another
         officer on the Maple Leaf.  He was also a distant
         cousin to the authors of this blog.
  •      Paroled at Shreveport, Louisiana June 21, 1865
  •      Member of the New Orleans Group of prisoners
  •      Escaped from the Maple Leaf
